HARD times for a industry. Needs a Hand.

January 8, 2009

The news ticker on the CNN news channel caught my eye. US PORN INDUSTRY SEEKS FEDERAL BAILOUT.

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said on Wednesday that they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry. They believe it needs support — “just to see us through HARD times.” Seems  its not just the auto industry and investment bank workers that are facing unemployment; porn movie makers as well as stars are getting a BLOW from the recession. If proper viagra is not used, this industry will start spiralling downwards from its CLIMAX (apologies for the double entendres).

I mean, c’mon, making a porn movie costs money. And in such times, one can’t miss those sultry advertisements over the net offering a solace from unemployment, mortgage issues, bad marriage. After all, its always been a reliable companion right since childhood (i mean 12-13 years of age). And if it gets bankrupt, then what happens of Jenna Jameson and MILF hunter videos that offer instant gratification for just $9.99! Clearly, those damsels are in distress!

What remains to be seen is will the US congressman give a hand to this industry apparently suffering from erectile dysfunction or turn a cold shoulder towards it banking on their own personal collection of dvds to last for a while 😉

I think a big reason for this is the rise of the internet. It’s easy to find free porn on the net. No one buys adult DVDs anymore, because they can just download whatever they like for free, if they know where to look.
